Music is an integral and important part of ministry at Advent.  We  offer opportunities for all ages!

 

Sunday School Musicals

The Sunday School presents two musicals each year, one at Christmas and the other in the spring.   Both are upbeat, fun, and teach faith-facts through a wonderful and entertaining experience.  These musicals are one part of Advent's best-kept secret.....the Sunday School program!

 

Intergenerational Chime Choir

 

 The intergenerational Chime Choir has been reinvigorated, with an emphasis toward involving more
of the high school youth.  It has been very well received and will continue to grow.  This group has performed for the church family, as well as sharing music at Lutheran Hillside Village. 

 

Praise Team

The Praise Team is the contemporary music component of our music ministry.  Advent uses a blended worship service format. The Team is a fluid group which welcomes new participants, both instrumental and vocal.

 

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir welcomes members of high school age and beyond.  Advent continues to be blessed with faithful musicians in an age when many churches are no longer able to field a choir!  This group performs a variety of music and genres, including cantatas.  We have expanded our ministry by sharing our cantatas at Lutheran Hillside Village (LHV).  This group also has participated in the Great Peoria Area Choir benefit for LHV.  Music literacy is not a requirement for being a member of this group, or any other group.
 
The music ministry continues to provide additional opportunities, through instrumental solos, organ/piano duets, and small group performances.
